OptiMate 12V Weatherproof Panel Mount Din Socket

This weatherproof accessory socket is designed to be panel-mounted on a vehicle to provide an external charging point and power outlet socket. It is the same format as is used on some Triumph, BMW and Honda motorcycles.
This new version utilises the standard AccuMate OptiMate connector it plugs into the standard fused permanent connection lead supplied with your charger. This means you can also utilise the extension lead to site the socket some distance from the battery.
In addition to providing a weatherproof connection point for your AccuMate or OptiMate charger (using the optional accessory plug lead), it can also provide a power outlet socket for other accessories - e.g. mobile phones, tyre pumps, portable CD players, notebook PCs, GPS navigation units, camping lights, etc. To do this, a matching plug would be needed on the accessory concerned. NB this is smaller than a cigarette lighter socket.
It is of particular use for scooters or bikes with sealed battery compartments
